The Holbrook Choral Society, now in its 24th season, has given two major concerts annually since it was established in 1984 by the current Director of Music of the Royal Hospital School Peter Crompton. The Society aims to provide the opportunity of bringing a variety of of music to the young people of the School and the region at large. The Christmas concert is very popular, and regularly attracts a capacity audience. The Summer concert gives the Society the opportunity to perform major choral works. Over the years works performed have included: Gloria - Vivaldi, Nelson Mass - Haydn, King Arthur - Purcell, Hiawatha's Wedding Feast - Coleridge-Taylor, Songs of the Fleet - Stanford, Creation - Haydn, Elijah - Mendelssohn, Coronation Te Deum - Walton, Missa Solemnis - Beethoven, The Dream of Gerontius - Elgar, Messiah - Handel, A German Requiem - Brahms, Mass in C Minor - Mozart, Five Mystical Songs - Vaughan Williams, The Crucifixion - Stainer, The Requiem - Verdi, The Requiem - Duruflé, Belshazzar's Feast - Walton, The Requiem - Mozart, Vespers Solennesde Confessore - Mozart, Serenade to Music - Vaughan Williams, the Cantique de Jean Racine & The Requiem by Fauré.
